Storms a Brewin

Hurricane, turned "Superstorm" Sandy has brought quite a large amount of rain our way. I was into it to begin with because we could always use some rain but it is a bit much now considering it has been raining for about 5 days or some crap. I took an adventure down to Kendal Lake in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. There just so happened to be a marathon happening and some of the runners were doing a double marathon which equals out to be 53.2 miles.

Dressing for rain is fun! I finally have a practical umbrella and a pair of really nice rain boots. Long skirts are ideal for this weather because they can blow all around but they still keep your legs warm without having to tuck pants into your boots. This outfit was random and thrown together last minute with things I would have never really thought to wear together. I'm into it.

Fenna and I had a little photo shoot with some smoke bombs. I haven't seen the finished product yet but I hope we got a few good shots even though it was cold and raining. It was really fun regardless and I can't wait to share them. On our way out of the park we were approached by a man who had passed us previously but was now missing one of his running partners. We spent the next hour or so helping his wife not get hypothermia and keeping a lookout until he came back with the other women. It was successful and I think my adrenaline kept me warm the whole time.

These Angry Birds were really nice and apologized for ruining the picture but I was happy they were there!

Speaking of the Storm a Brewin'!!! My awesome friend Jesse has a blog called that! Check it out!

In the New!

I'm not going to say much about the storm because it is kind of bumming me out. I hope that everyone is safe and it sucks that things are being ruined by this natural disaster.

Anywho, In the midst of it all I am staying inside today in the warmth with my dude. We might leave to go by Assassins Creed III. I'm a little scared to drive outside just because it is easy to wreck or get wrecked into by someone else and I really don't need that to happen. This is for the best. Here are some short sentences to catch you up on my life. Ready......GO!

I'm excited to watch New Girl tonight. I just ate some pizza rolls. I have been listening to The Papercut Chronicles by Gym Class Heroes recently. My dog is scared of the storm. I'm not dressed yet. I want to go on a walk. Today was Coco's first day at work, sort of. Here is a picture of me and my dog from yesterday!

Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley

I love those days during the months of fall when it might be about 73 degrees out side, but when the wind blows it feels like 40! The perfect kind of weather for a coat and bare legs! I adore this skirt because it breaks the rule of wearing black and brown together without being leopard print. I also love the bright green ivy up the side of this building. Who would have thought all I had to do was walk around the side of an old abandoned building to find a beautiful backdrop. Thanks for taking me here, Fenna!

Surprisingly the ivy was really soft.

Getting away with a few more short skirts is going to be hard because I feel the chill of winter right around the corner and I'm anticipating it like crazy. I love layers and tights and boots and sweaters and coats and being warm! I also know that I must soak up as much winter as I can because it goes away before you even know it!

EHTP or Everyone Hates These Pants

Unfortunately, we didn't get a shot of my butt which would have been a good starting point to explain why everyone hates these pants. But I'm not here to talk about what people hate, I'm here to tell you what I like and it's as simple as that! I love these pants and they are so comfortable except for sometimes when I eat too much and the elastic waist squeezes my belly! The bad part, and part that everyone dislikes is that there are no back pockets which is unflattering for just about everyone. I just rock them with a shirt that is long in the back. I enjoy that they have an elastic cuff at the ankle because then I can bunch them up a little at the bottom.
Peep that classy ponytail on my wrist!
Showing off the ankle tatties. (that's not a real word, nor do I ever use it in all seriousness)

In the NEW!

Here are some new things happening in my life! They are awesome and I want you to know!!!

A few weeks ago I was offered a wonderful opportunity to help out my good friend Lauren. I accepted this offer so quick you wouldn't even believe, which means, tomorrow I will be working at Noto from 3 until 7! If you aren't familiar, GET FAMILIAR, because Noto is soooo cute! The flagship store is located right next to Urban Eats (more on that place later!) which is right next to Musica (another awesome place in Akron!)! Akron is so lucky to have a place like Noto and even more lucky because Lauren is opening a Pop-Up-Shop for the holiday season and maybe if I am lucky enough....I'll get to help her out over at that store as well.

Stop in to see me! I wish Leo and Charlotte were working with me but at least I got this cute picture of us!

AND!!!!! Brian and I went to Target randomly the other night after a sweet and delicious trip to Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream! I know these statements are not very exciting but check this out!

The 'Salty Caramel' ice cream from Jeni's is freaking killer! I could eat it every day. Also, now I really enjoy Adventure Time, I got this really cute hat AND I got to finally see Bridesmaids all the way through. The first time I watched it was in a giant red truck driving from Redlands to LA and I was in the back seat, needless to say I didn't get to see much. This night was amazing and truly deserves all of the exclamation points that are in this blog post!

Holy Crap!!!!!

I am seriously so flippin stoked every time my Just Wink app updates on my phone!!!! Once it does, I thoroughly enjoy checking for new cards and reading them out loud to any unfortunate persons that just so happen to be around me. I love these cards. Every single one makes me laugh out loud!

Just Wink is the greatest greeting card company ever. Because of them, I can obnoxiously send hilarious greeting cards to all my friends all the time forever!!! Get freaking familiar!

It's sorta like that Alfred Hitchcock movie 'Birds'

I am so happy that here in Akron, Ohio, I get the chance to celebrate all of the seasons! I love every single part of the year and the weather, even when I hate it and don't want to leave my bed because there is too much snow or it's too hot or it's raining or what the heck ever. We all feel that way sometime and no matter what, all of the seasons are still amazing! Which brings me to this Autumn-licuous outfit!

I'm excited to share this outfit for so many reasons. First and foremost, personally, orange seems like a hard color to pull off. I have recently added multiple shades of orange to my closet in the form of tights, shirts and even a wonderful new coat! This coat is great news because I have been living in gigantic over-sized sweaters for the last two years and I need to change this. There is one sweater that I specifically wore as a coat and I'm almost positive that everyone, myself included, had a love/hate relationship with it. I really want to wear more polka dots, skirts, and long sleeved blouses and start getting away from simple dresses and sweaters.

Second, I really want to mention that as you may or may not know, I am a human, which means that nothing I ever do is expected to be complete and total perfection. This is another whole topic in itself but, simply put, these pictures show the real me and I could be more happy with them. I'm almost positive I was in the middle of a sentence in the first photo and once you look at the second you can see that I am as happy as I ever could be. Which brings me to this photo right below, where you find your pretty average hipster girl texting away on her iPhone. And I'll be honest because I can, that last description doesn't bother me one bit. I freaking rule!

Introducing my trusty "coat"

I got the shirt and the skirt from Platos Closet when Coco and I went on a shopping spree. Originally the shirt is Paul & Joe and the skirt is H&M. Brian gave me the hat. The sweater was picked out by Little J at a thrift store many moons ago. Tights are Vera Wang for Khols and my wedges are from Target. That's all. Enjoy!

Clearly this is how I was feeling during this little outfit shoot.

End of an Era

This weekend brought two wonderful things to an end: the house on Brookside and Weeds. I'm not gonna lie, both were kind of a big wonderful memory filled bummer. In a good way.

I wont talk much about Brookside because I never lived there, but my best friend did. Brookside was just a house, also known as "The Eagles Nest" if you were cool enough. Saturday night was the last party. Everyone that lived there moved out yesterday. Courtney lived there almost two years ago at this point. I met some nice people along with some not so nice people. They threw some really great parties and we played a freaking lot of beer pong. This may seem lame to you and I don't mind, everyone has fun their own way. All of my friends rock, end of story.

From left to right: Cody, Woody, James, Bret, Brandon, Courtney, Tristen is laying across everyone and the little dogs name is Asia.

NOTE: This contains NO spoilers!

Oh goodness it has been a long 8 years. Courtney and I finished watching season 8 of Weeds yesterday. I can't say that it is difficult to keep up on television with out cable and what not because of the internet, but it is kinda hard because I don't have cable of any kind, like no real TV stations. Anyway, thanks to Netflix and the internet Courtney and I re-watched the whole series from beginning to end over the last couple months. We found out just before the 2 part, hour finale of season 8 that the show was cancelled and this was the last we would see of the Botwins and friends. I was both upset and relieved.

While watching I was glad to see everything wrapping up in a very predictable sort of way. I needed the closure. Over the years I began to hate Nancy, and then I started to hate everyone else one by one. Silas and every girlfriend he had and Shane with everyone he tried to make proud. I never hated Andy or Doug. I even found myself missing the characters that had thankfully gotten away from the Botwins even though they thought Nancy was so cool and wanted to be best friends. Like Celia.

I got really choked up during the last episode. It was out of control how different everyone looked at the end. I'll miss when we were left hanging at the end of EVERY episode, with no idea what to expect next, knowing it would be totally unrealistic, and screaming at Nancy for being a horrible crazy person and mother. She makes bad decisions. I'm glad it's over. But I'm still pretty sad.

What was once this, turned to this.

I'll leave you with a couple pictures that make me happy.

And now I miss Pushing Daisies.

Right Now!!!

Sitting in the basement at my Dads house. It's like a freaking high school flash back up in here. I drank too much Mountain Dew and started annoying my little bro and Alex while they were watching The Matrix and playing Assassins Creed. Alex is this kid that hung out with my brother Andrew, me and my little sister Maggie for years back when we all were in high school. I found this little tiara with some sheet music and a bunch of old crap I ripped out of magazines. I have a large collection of "Got Milk?" ads. Life is funny when you look back at it. I can't wait to laugh so hard I cry at this collection of stuff and then throw it in the freaking trash.

Here is a really cool picture of Alex and I from like 2008 or something. My teeth were a lot more white back in the day. I still make sweet faces!

No make-up face!!!

If You Asked Me to Dance

Woohoo! My first outfit post! Don't worry, I planned this outfit specifically for the first post. I love this dress so much. It was gifted to me by my charming, thoughtful boyfriend to wear to a beautiful wedding at Hale Farm and Village. Now it is my party dress. I wear it all the time.

Here's a pretty picture of Molly and Adam after they were married. This photo was taken by NE Meadow Studios.

I don't shop at Anthropologie. Don't get me wrong, I wish I could but I'll need a grown-up job first in order to afford those dresses. So for now, this is the only dress I own from there. I tired on three and let Brian make the final call. I was so happy when he picked this one because the skirt on it spins perfectly.

I put this dress on everyday leading up to Molly and Adam's wedding, I think it was four days or something. I loved it more and more each time. The fact that Brian picked it helped a lot, too. I got a little bummed out because the dress was so wonderful and I wanted so many more, but like I said before, it seriously is not realistic like at all. It fit perfect in all the right spots, it twirled better than I could have hoped, there is an opening on the back accentuated by three round buttons that shows off my freckles and if you look close the lace has a tiny shimmer of gold throughout.

This is when I began to realize that the reason it was crazy expensive, to me at least, was because it was made so nicely. The slip on the inside is cinched at my hips and waist like it was made for me. I'm convinced now that it was. I only have nice things to say about this beautiful dress, I bet all the other dresses are made for me too and one of these days I'll have a closet full of perfect dresses.

I have John to thank for the chew marks on my belt. He's pretty much the reason I can't have nice things.

The toes of my shoes are looking a little rough, but consider the fact they are at least 2 years old and they belong on my feet. It's character and a good way to feel comfortable.
